De Campus is the biggest boulder gym in The Netherlands which opened last year in The Hague. There are not that many boulder gyms in The Netherlands, but it's definitely a fast growing market. Because competition is getting more serious De Campus understood it needed a rebrand from the style they created when they launched (2 months before).
The new branding was inspired by simple but recognizable brands like Nike, The North Face, and Patagonia.
To create a more serious boulder gym brand we chose to use a font that is both simple and strong, as well as recognizable. That way we could use the brand assets very minimal while still easily being recognized as De Campus even by just using the font. To support the font we also created a very minimal, but versatile mark that matches the font and looks awesome on merchandize. Where the staff would first not wear they shirts from their first branding, they now ordered several different shirts and sweaters they want to wear.
Later this month the new logo will be presented to gym members through a boulder event where 300 quality shirts will be given away to visitors of the event.
